Virtual Career Accelerator

This document constitutes the official Divity Group Inc. (“We”, “Us” or “Divity Group”) Accelerate Her FutureTM Virtual Career Accelerator’s agreement with the Mentor (“Agreement”).

1. Objective

The Accelerate Her FutureTM Virtual Career Accelerator is a 16-week by-application program designed for self-identifying Black, Indigenous and women of colour based in Ontario. The program provides Participants two (2) career readiness bootcamps including mental health and wellness educational sessions (each held over weekends), technical upskilling fundamentals training, small group mentorship, and small group career coaching. Participants will complete a technical upskilling training in one of three tracks: Data Analytics Fundamentals (8 week part-time course, two three-hour classes per week, in the evenings delivered by Juno College of Technology), UX & Digital Marketing Fundamentals (8 week part-time course, two three-hour classes per week, in the evenings delivered by Our Wave Hub), or Intro to Front-End with JavaScript (6 week part-time course, two three-hour classes per week, in the evenings delivered by Lighthouse Labs). The technical upskilling tracks are entry-level part-time courses and do not require prerequisite knowledge. The technical upskilling courses will provide Participants with introduction knowledge to the track they are in. The Virtual Career Accelerator also provides a short-term work project offered in partnership with Riipen where Participants apply their learning in a real-world environment for a small or medium sized organization based in Ontario. Participants will work in small teams and required to complete 20 hours individually on their project virtually over a 4-5 week period. Participants must submit their project deliverable on the Riipen platform by December 16, 2022 and complete required surveys in order to receive a $500 stipend.

We believe in a strengths-based, reciprocal approach to mentorship. Traditional approaches tend to be hierarchical and top down. We believe that our program Participants and Mentors bring valuable contributions and perspectives where both can benefit and learn. Through equal partnership and a learning mindset, this approach focuses on the whole person and promotes respecting unique lived experiences. For Mentors, this experience is an opportunity for personal growth and for enhancing the role each of us can play in systemic change with and for Black, Indigenous and women of colour.

Together we are building a community with, for and by self-identifying Black, Indigenous and women of colour students, recent grads, and those at all stages of their careers to ensure our full participation and leadership at all levels in business and STEM.
